From my European perspective it’s good to have a weapons industry: for one thing the automotive industry is fucked now and we have a need for defense because of the brave new multipolar world that some people here are so fond of.
So pros and cons for the military industrial complex certainly.
I am not fond of the military interventions of the last 20 or so years, I need to add that.
Not having Afghanistan and not disturbing the order in the middle east would have been better.
