Today’s game is some more Final Fantasy 7 Remake. I finished Chapter 9 today (after 3 days of it). It was surprisingly long. I wasn’t expecting a rhythm mini game either. I did know that Cloud cross dressed through hearing about the game online over the years, i never knew the context though. Poor cloud is just not having a good day. First the Massage, and now getting ogled by the Don. At least he’s finally out of there. He did seem to mildly enjoy how he looked in the dress though, or at least wasn’t bothered by it in the end.

I liked when the game separated Cloud from the other two. As a plot and gameplay device i love when games with party mechanics remove the Main Protagonist from the party for a bit and have you control someone else. It’s a trivial thing usually, but it does add a spotlight to the characters which i like.

I went ahead and did the Arena Fight too. It was kind of weird doing it without a second party member. With it just being cloud i had to be a lot more careful not to fuck up and get downed. Still, it wasn’t too much of a challenge. I managed to take the two fireball things out fairly easily.

With the Abzu fight i had some more trouble and failed the first time. I think i started to struggle when i took out the first horn. I’ll look at the assess again next time i try and work from there. It’s a shame, i had him whittled down to the last bit of health and then he wiped the floor with my party.

Same! These moments always feel special. I also really love how Wall Market is depicted in this chapter.

Man, I am jealous of how much you get to play, lol. I am literally at the last hour of this game from when it first released, but I haven’t been able to finish it since… same goes for everything I play. I recently saw you going through the last of us 2, and it’s the same for that, but im only about halfway. List goes on and on and I haven’t picked up anything really in the last year that’s not a free monthly game.

I think your post is going to motivate me. Im going to try and beat it this week and break my awful no finish streak.

Doing these screenshots definitely has helped to give me a clear goal when completing games. Before i used to bounce around my backlog and not finish anything. Hell, i still do it from time to time lol

Now for the bad news, you are easily at the best part of an otherwise pretty mid game that fails in many ways that you wouldn’t expect from such an expensive title. This game is just troubled in so many ways that I couldn’t even really feel comfortable giving it a 7 out of 10 as it maybe deserves a 6.5 at best.

Is this your first time going through Remake? It’s one of my favorite modern games (mostly for the nostalgia, but I also really enjoyed the combat).

I borrowed the original from my local library but had to send it back during Chapter 7. A few Steam sales ago though I picked it up again because I really enjoyed it

I really struggle to remember weaknesses and tips. I just figured out at least that I don’t need to cast Assess every time, I can just hit select which makes things far easier
