All this suggests that there is a chance for a deep reordering of the earth’s power systems, in every sense of the word “power,” offering a plausible check to not only the climate crisis but to autocracy.
It’s nice to have a wider perspective at how backward-oriented and reactionary the current US government policy is. They literally are trying to turn the clock back, just in order that a few large companies keep their fossil profits a few years longer.
I personally think it’s better to post the original URL of the article and include the archived/non-paywalled version in the body of the post. This has some advantages, for example if everybody posts the original URL it’s easier to find the cross-posts, and this way you can see the source of the article without clicking it.
