I’ll never understand the whole assigning blame routine. Blame isn’t a solution. It doesn’t fix a damn thing to know whose fault it is. If you want to solve the problem, figuring out who to blame is nothing but a waste of time and energy.
That said, you’re wrong. There’s plenty of people and organizations to blame, from Rupert Murdock to the Heritage Foundation and beyond. Did refusing to vote for Harris help? Of course not. But this didn’t fucking start with “enlightened liberals” (which is a complete useless term, btw; why the fuck is everyone got such a hard-on for calling people liberals, anyway?).
Besides, all your doing here is playing into the divisive rhetoric. Our only chance is solidarity amongst the working class, and this bullshit ain’t helping. Well, no, I guess if I’m going to be honest here it does help the sociopathic oligarchs maintain control. So congratulations - you’re fighting for the wrong fucking side.

You’ll really go to any extent possible to avoid the idea of solidarity, won’t you?
So whatever you win I guess? Since that apparently is all you seem to care about, which is just ludicrous and bizarre. So go on with your bad self. Or something?
You’ll really go to any extent possible to avoid the idea of solidarity, won’t you?
The say while continuously behaving in a way contrary to solidarity.
So whatever you win I guess? Since that apparently is all you seem to care about, which is just ludicrous and bizarre. So go on with your bad self. Or something? Weirdo
Because that’s not a paragraph typed out by someone trying to “win” whatever the fuck they think this is. This is one of those “every accusation is a confession” situations.
Truth be told I don’t know either, I’m just exhausted by seeing commentors online screeching the same tired screeds “if only the other leftists voted for Kamala” “Kamala supports Israel!!!”. Who cares how we got here at this point? If you’re not licking the regime’s boot they’re coming for you eventually. If people are outraged then good, swallow it for now and organize in your communities, get active, coordinate. We’ll have plenty of time for purity tests and factionalism when the dust settles.
It matters how we got here because we need to avoid that in the future. In America’s dogshit FPTP system, not voting for Kamala was handing Trump a win, so they are just as much at fault as MAGA.
Certainly in the long term FPTP needs to go, along with the Electoral College, the practice of Gerrymandering, the Democrats ridiculous system of Super Delegates, and the cap on the number of representatives in the House. None of which is to mention the overturn of Citizen’s United, the long overdue process of campaign finance reform, reigning in the power of lobbyists, breaking up the conglomerates that have formed in the wake of the Regan era kneecapping of the FTC and a ban on Congressional trading of stocks and securities. While we quibble about that though the far right have managed to turn their culture war into a full blown Crusade complete with a neo-geshtapo with a larger budget than the militaries of several countries, and before you’ve managed to agree on a root cause for the decay of the institutional protections we used to take for granted a bunch of masked fascists have thrown you in a camp. Heart disease isn’t a huge concern when the same patent is bleeding out from a gunshot wound. The cause of this clusterfuck is bigger than one election, or one bloc of voters, it’s a complex interplay of multiple contradictions and flaws in the foundation of the American State dating back centuries. Yes, it is important to repair the damage, to improve and learn from our failures but that does not matter in the immediate term. The left will not get the chance to reform and repair once a full blown purge of dissidents and thought criminals is being carried out, we’re six months to a year away from camps for Citizens critical of the regime, and two to three years out from outright death camps. We are in deep shit, anyone in the US’ borders or sphere of direct influence is in deep shit. People who voted third party or abstained absolutely fucked up. I can’t stress enough how much that no longer matters as fascist tyrants continue to tighten the noose
I don’t disagree with any of that. Also you didn’t mention the whole of cancelling elections/rigging them completely like Russia does. Also you didn’t mention Trump imposing full martial law the first time someone shoots back at ICE.
However assuming we can still vote fairly (2024 has some questions on legitimacy by SMART and ETA), the uninformed voter will be the key to winning. At this point practically no R’s will flip to D and vice versa, so it’s important to sway as many uninformed voters as possible. Analyzing why they didn’t vote a certain way last time is a key to fixing that so they can vote D next time.
Thanks to all you “enlightened liberals” who refused to vote for Kamala. THIS IS YOUR FAULT. We’ll bury you with the republicans
Da fellow Amerikan it’s DEFINITELY not the fault of trumpers. That would make too much sense.

Did the guilt of making the objectively wrong choice write this?
You got a counter argument, or are you just gonna pout?
You wrote a paragraph saying assigning blame is bad then spent two paragraphs assigning blame. Figure it out.
Hmmm, obviously there no possible way that was, you know, specifically to demonstrate my point… Nah!
But, did you read the last paragraph even? Like, what’s solidarity and avoiding unnecessary divisive rhetoric for to do with blame, anyway?
Seriously, though, if we all didn’t start channeling the rage at the people who are actually destroying things, what’s even the point??
Who are you channeling rage at right now?

So guess you understand it just fine.

Why is “enlightened liberals” in quotes? I feel like anytime this conversation comes up it’s “leftist” or something similar in scare quotes.
Some people seem to think if you don’t try harm reduction you aren’t a real leftist.
What makes someone a real leftist?

I don’t know, but there’s a dead horse to beat somewhere

Also, love me some Zildjans

There’s the second dead horse, thanks for bringing it
