Spamming involves posting the same link or mesaage over and over again in multiple different places.

So what exactly is this then :

    Hmmm…?

That’s called cross posting, it’s an incredibly widespread practice, and it’s a common courtesy to share content between multiple applicable communities where there may be different people to see it.

It’s a bit different from following someone around and posting cryptic bullshit in all of their posts. As others have said, just block them and move on if you’re bothered.

But me commenting on three “cross-posted” posts about how this guy is spamming, that’s spam. But his posts, which far outnumber my comments, are not spam, but my criticism of his spam is?

Honestly, how do you manage such cognitive dissonance?

No need to follow anyone around. You never browse new? He spams his links, so they appear at the exact same time. He doesn’t read the things he posts, he spams. Just because you’re having a tantrum, stomping your foot and pretending he isn’t, that doesn’t change reality.

          Let me be clear:

Everything you are talking about is not an OP problem. It’s also not everyone else in this thread’s problem despite your insistence that it should be.

This is a you problem, and the easiest way to fix it is if you do what everyone else here is recommending: block them and move on.

Hey if you’re bothered, you can just block me. ;>

You don’t think disinformation online is everyone’s problem?

Or are you gonna hope that by having ignored the questions in the last comment about you maintain your extraordinary cognitive dissonance, I’m gonna accept the implication that it isn’t spam?

If you’re getting so upset online, maybe take a break from it?

I’m not blocking you because I believe in doing what anyone else should do when they see someone else being harassed, which is to intervene.

Stop stalking OP. I don’t care if you think your reasons are justified, this is not okay to do.

                “Harassed”, sure buddy.

Dude makes 12 posts an hour, every hour, for months, and calling him out on it is harassment?

So by calling me out now, aren’t you harassing me?

When you browse new, he’s all you see.

Stop being obtuse and pretending there aren’t bad actors.

That’s cross-posting. They’re adding something to the community. What are you doing, exactly?

So you’re still maintaining that propaganda doesn’t exist?

It’s not a newsbot just posting articles as they come out. It’s not a person reading articles and sharing interesting content.

It’s a person spamming pre-selected articles without even reading them. Thus they’re not adding anything, because they don’t even understand what the thing is they’re posting. They’re spamming.

If it was a person who posted the things he read, it would be different. But it’s not. It’s clearly spam with an agenda, and again, if you can’t see it, I can’t help you. Perhaps try taking some media literacy courses?

Then again, to be honest, I think you completely understand my point and this is the same age old tired bad faith bullshit.

          You:

So you’re still maintaining that propaganda doesn’t exist?

This isn’t even mental gymnastics, it’s mental parkour. You’re just jumping all over the place, ain’t ya?

Anyone can post with an agenda, if they want to. We all have an agenda of some kind. Just like you do, against this one person with whom you’ve taken umbrage.

The childish avoidance was quite charming the first year or two, but now it’s getting just kinda tiresome.

“Oh Russian propaganda? No but everyone has an agenda, so Russian propaganda is nothing more than than that!”

See before; “this is the rhetorical equivalent of fighting 5-year olds”

One person having an opinion isn’t propaganda. I have been ignoring your point because it’s daft hyperbole. Block the person who’s upsetting you and post about cars as much as you like. This clearly isn’t making you happy.

After like a dozen times of talking about how he can’t possibly read those articles he’s spamming, how do you think he would form his own opinion, when he doesn’t even read the articles?

You know this. You can try to draw this out as long as you want, but you’re just going around in circles, pretending not to see the obvious. It’s pathetic.

How do you think Russian disinfo and misinfo shows up online? Do you think they post “You should support Putin!” posts? That’s a rhetorical question, I know you will never answer any of this.
