Before blaming AI, blame companies who decided to outsource as much as possible to the lowest priced options, regardless of quality. Once those options became “cost prohibitive” (read, not cheap enough to satisfy shareholders), only then did the rush to develop AI truly begin.

I’m all for hating the boomers. If you want to blame the disappearance of American manufacturing and the weakening of organized labor on Boomers, I’m all for that. They availability of higher education for the masses to the point where a college degree became a barrier to entry is something that came about thanks to the prosperity boom after WWII. Remember yuppies? Those fuckers were boomers enjoying the advantages their parents and socialist reforms laid at their feet.
So no. Boomers didn’t make college a barrier to entry, but they did milk their good fortune and left very little for those that came after them.

I have a Sprinter van with lane assist for cross country travel. As obnoxious as it is 99% of the time, it has come in clutch a few times when I started to get drowsy and drifted off my lane.
Even if you are American, you should support this movement. The best way to end or reverse enshittification is through competition. The big American tech companies are no longer competing to make good or innovative products. They are competing to see who can monetize the most while risking the least.
