So you’re crying you can’t get Euro cheese in the states? And that’s it? What’s the point in arguing about that.
Maybe have someone ship you some. We’re just offering you options. If none of it is good enough, get it from Europe then?

I also live in the Northeast, and, uh, New England absolutely has good cheese on a local level.
National brands are offered everywhere and are shit so they can be shipped across country. Strive for regional brands and you’ll have luck.
I buy parm cut from an imported block. That $15 chunk will last a few months or more for me… I use it sparingly though.
I buy imported Parmesan cut straight from the block for pasta, and savor it in each dish as it is expensive. Excuse yourself.
There are many small farm, local cheeses in my area. Arethusa is a famous, award winning cheese maker in my state. You pay a lot for it, but many farmer’s markets and rural areas have cheese makers.
Obviously if you buy national cheese brands, they will suck. But that doesn’t mean with a little effort you can’t find good cheese made locally to you with higher quality care.

I found this really interesting and thought provoking. I loved the line how ultimate optimism is not always misplaced.
My husband is a chef and doesn’t cook literally anything, ever, at home. I feed him graciously, as I totally understand why he doesn’t want to cook at home, and I love to cook. That’s my motivation to cook, I’ve others to feed, so it’s routine. People will joke he must cook for me all the time, but nothing is further from the truth lol
The man would live off crackers and pb&j if he could.
Most recipes I come across online have a “jump to recipe” button. If the recipe is still being annoying, I’ll click “print recipe” and work off the preview.
I cook a pot of spicy beans and use it throughout the week with tortillas, chips, toast, or rice.
Cook one day, eat for 5. Finding a meal you like, and can do this with is pinnacle imo, I agree
I don’t even know what I’m defending, or what you’re talking about. Have a cheesy day!
