Of course I’m not happy with the status quo. I plan to vote in the primary for the candidate who best matches my own values. I don’t know who that is yet.

All I’m seeing in this thread is arguments why we shouldn’t vote for this person or that, and not a single person willing to say there’s a candidate good enough that they’d bother to vote. I just want a fucking example of what good enough is. I’d vote for AOC or Bernie despite their flaws, but I’d love to have even better candidates to choose from.

I agree. I’d just like to hear from the poster above if there’s a single politician that meets their standards, or are they just giving up and using this line of argumentation to justify their own lack of action.

They don’t want your forgiveness. They hate you more than they could ever hate Trump, because you’re part of the out group. They’ll find excuses for pedophilia, rape, whatever… as long as the guy is hurting their “enemies”. Nothing Trump could do would make them abandon their hatred of you.

The camera view is not of the cell or even outside of it. It’s pointed at nearby cells and the FBI claims someone would have to walk past it to reach Epstein’s cell.

Some places cap property tax increases per year, or even have a flat rate based on purchase price (or appraisal?) that never goes up… until you sell the house to someone new. Then the tax gets recalculated based on the current value of the house. So if the price of the house went up 10x in those 30 years, the tax is going to be 10x higher. It’s actually beneficial to the taxpayer IMO to have a consistent predictable tax that doesn’t go up over time if your neighborhood gets gentrified or whatever and home prices skyrocket.

Yeah, I didn’t realize how soon after takeoff this was when I proposed that idea either. There’s no way shutting off the fuel during takeoff would be a reasonable decision.

How is it different for the victim? What if they can’t tell if it’s a deepfake or a real photo of them?

If someone put a camera in the girls’ locker room and distributed photos from that, would you consider it CSAM? No contact would have taken place so the kids would be unaware when they were photographed, is it still abuse?

If so, how is the psychological effect of a convincing deepfake any different?

It’s a different word in the US, with a totally different meaning. I’ve never heard it said by a yank without it being directed at a woman in a voice filled with hate, intended to demean, frighten, or hurt her. We all get that it means something else across the pond, we’re not offended by your use of it, although I personally would prefer you don’t direct it at women who you suspect might be from the US. Many of us have really bad memories of terrifying situations where we were called that word.

I also find children being murdered pretty fucking offensive, for the record.
