I’ve seen arguments that it’s a fucked up new money rich person thing, basically a “do you know how much money it takes to look this shit” sorta thing. Basically the semi-biological manifestation of those shitty designer things like Gucci or Ferrari where the whole point is to be loud and obnoxious.
