Yeah what they did was excessive vandalism. Not terrorism not unless it’s the first move in a long strategy although if it is, it’s a pretty dumb one since they’ve all been arrested.

They absolutely did, but the problem is that what they did in order to protest was a crime. A pretty big crime too, frankly they’re lucky they didn’t get shot.
I have absolutely no idea how those geniuses thought that this would be a good tactic.
I fully support their objectives, and I think it’s ridiculous to call them terrorists, but what they did was beyond moronic.
The difference is that the Steam Deck actually uses fairly traditional controls. Two joysticks, face buttons, d-pad (not that anyone uses the d-pad), multiple back triggers.
This thing was been really weird with its three analogue inputs (how am I supposed to use three analogue inputs) and every other button was limited. It also existed in a world where I can just get an Xbox controller and plug it into my PC, and it just works, so what’s the point anyway?
This thing isn’t even particularly good at controlling the steam deck, which kind of proves the point that it never really made sense as a product.
Can you imagine what would happen if you did get post your second class post Sundays? Total fucking anarchy, we can’t have that, so we have to make sure that it definitely will never happen.
What stats you haven’t provided any stats, you just said the had legitimate grievances and then didn’t elaborate.
Are we sure about that because I’ve never really been able to get a unbiased viewpoint. You know because they’re all racist over there as like the default position. Even if they’re not unpleasant people they’re kind of just casually racist, it does mean that whatever they say has to be taken with several hundred kg worth of salt
Don’t worry we won’t have to put up with it for long because apparently an AI is going to use a virus to kill us all in about 2 years time. Personally I wish it would get on with it.
Would they though? I think if anything most industries and economies would be booming, more disposable income results in more people buying stuff. This results in more profitable businesses and thus more taxes are collected. More taxes being available to the government means better public services.
Even the banks would benefit, loans would be more stable since the delinquency rate would be much lower if everyone had better pay.
The only people who would lose out would be the idiot day traders who rely on uncertainty and quite a lot of luck in order to make any money. In a more stable global economy businesses would be guaranteed to make money and so there would be no cheap deals that could be made.
I keep being told by experts that AGI is inevitable. Yet all I ever see is people constantly go on about LLMs, so I don’t know what to think. Are they lying, is it all just a bubble that’s going to burst or is there actually some utility there that is being hidden by the LLM hype? If so, can’t we just use the actual AI rather than these other things.
The problem is that we absolutely can build a sustainable society on our own. We’ve had the blueprints forever, the Romans worked this out centuries ago, the problem is that there’s always some power seeking prick who messes it up. So we gave up trying to build a fair society and just went with feudalism and then capitalism instead.
As long as they have one employee who just constantly renames products, they will be okay.
I bet they’re really pissed off with ubisoft right now. They basically started this whole movement by being so egregious with The Crew. Less than a month before they shut the servers down the game was still on sale for the full price that it had launched with.
Granted it was shut down because it was the most mediocre game ever made but that still isn’t an excuse.
This
You’re comparing apples and oranges. The A71 isn’t supposed to be comparable with a pixel 9.
You’re comparing the three-door Nissan to a Lamborghini
What are you talking about? The article doesn’t mention him.
Bah, he can get in the sea as well, he supported brexit
Yeah but that’s been the opinion of the British public since the 1960s. Calling every British politician a useless skidmark (preferably to their face) is as close as we get to patriotism.
I know a few people who used to work for Apple. The reason a lot don’t say it though is because if you do people automatically assume you had something to do with whatever feature they don’t personally like, and you get berated about it.
Is the best defence you have is it everyone else is just as bad that’s not really he defence, that’s just coopism.
The problem is what they did didn’t really have any meaning. They haven’t really roused the public with their action, in fact their subsequent arrest has been more impactful for their cause than the actual action, and I can’t imagine that was envisioned as a predicted outcome.
What they did was actually unhelpful because it allowed the government to label them as terrorists and therefore ignore them. Sticking to protests and writing to MPs and just making a general stink about things would, in the long run, have been more helpful because it would have never given them something that they could use as a stick to beat people with when they complained.
